What is ACCA?

ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) is one of the largest professional accountancy body with 135,000 members in 170 countries. It offers qualifications to professionals and students who seek a rewarding career in accountancy, finance and management.

In order to qualify as an ACCA member, you will need to complete:

• 14 exams in total out of the Fundamental and the Professional Levels

• a minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience

• the ACCA Professional Ethics module ACCA & Sloane Exed Concept:

ACCA Syllabus:

A total of 14 papers need to be completed from which 9 papers in the Fundamentals level can be exempted under special conditions.

ACCA Entry requirements:

Minimum entry requirements: two A Levels and three GCSEs or equivalent in five separate subjects, including English and Mathematics.

Mature Student Entry Route (MSER):

• no academic qualifications required mature students must pass the equivalent of Papers F2 and F3 within two years before further progression to the ACCA exams is permitted

Graduate Entry Route:

Relevant degree holders from ACCA-accredited institutions may be exempted from all nine exams within the Fundamentals level and register directly at the Professional level. Non-relevant degrees may also qualify for some exemptions.

 
Access to ACCA via CAT qualification:

• no academic qualifications required
• sit Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) qualification first and then transfer to the Skills module of the ACCA Qualification by claiming exemption from the first three papers in the Knowledge module

Examination deadlines:

You can register directly with ACCA at any time.  However if you want to sit an exam, you should consider applying and registering by December 31 of the preceding year for June examinations and by August 15 of the same year for December examinations.
